Operate and Maintain Chainsaw
This nationally recognised course is essential for those involved in agricultural and land management work where chainsaws are regularly used. It ensures safe and effective operation while supporting compliance with industry standards.
Suitable for all experience levels, the course equips beginners with a strong foundation in chainsaw safety and operation and provides experienced users with the opportunity to refresh their skills and stay up to date with current practices and technologies. Students will demonstrate compression and tension cuts using both top and bottom of bar, as well as plunge cuts. Students will also clean and sharpen a chainsaw as a part of the practical component of this course.

AHCPCM205
Fell Small Trees
This unit of competency teaches the skills and knowledge required to prepare for tree felling, fell small trees and complete felling operations where hazards have been assessed as low risk. It ensures safe and effective operation of chainsaws while supporting compliance with industry standards.
Suitable for all experience levels, the course equips beginners with a strong foundation in principles and practices of small tree felling operations and provides experienced users with the opportunity to refresh their skills and stay up to date with current practices and technologies. Each student must fell a minimum of three trees each as a part of the practical assessment. This unit has a prerequisite of AHCMOM213 Operate and maintain chainsaws.

FWPCOT3301
Trim Trees Using a Pole Saw
This unit of competency teaches the skills and knowledge required to use a fuel or battery powered pole saw to trim tree branches within safe height and angle limits.
Suitable for all experience levels, the course equips beginners with a strong foundation in principles and practices of trimming trees using a pole saw within safe height and angle limits. It provides experienced users with the opportunity to refresh their skills and stay up to date with current practices and technologies. Each student must trim a minimum of at least six trees each as a part of the practical component. They must also clean and sharpen a pole saw.
