CULTURAL AWARENESS

Build a respectful workplace where everyone feels valued

Good communication and mutual respect are essential on any farm. When people come from different countries, language groups or cultural backgrounds, misunderstandings can happen easily.

Australian agriculture relies on diverse teams. More and more farms are employing workers from different language groups, countries and cultural backgrounds to meet growing labour needs. As teams become more diverse, clear communication and mutual respect are essential for safety, productivity and staff retention.

Small changes can have powerful impacts. Our Cultural Awareness training helps your team:

  • Reduce misunderstandings and prevent conflict
  • Improve team communication and cooperation
  • Support fair, respectful and inclusive workplaces
  • Strengthen leadership capability and confidence
  • Retain skilled employees by creating a workplace people want to be part of

  • Managers and supervisors
  • Team leaders
  • Staff working in diverse or cross-cultural teams
  • Anyone wanting to build better communication and cultural understanding

The Bridging the Gap (BTG) program is a joint initiative by AgForce Training and the Queensland Government to support the state’s farmers.

Designed by farmers for farmers, these hands-on, non-accredited programs address the immediate needs of the agricultural workforce. They focus on delivering practical skills that can be rapidly implemented after training.

Our short courses are developed based on direct feedback from the farming community, ensuring quick and effective upskilling in essential modern farming operations. We extend our formal thanks to the Queensland Government for their seed funding and support in creating this vital initiative
